The BCAAS (branched-chain amino acids, L-isoleucine, L-leucine, Lvaline) are capable of increasing the muscle protein synthesis under certain conditions, while helping to reduce the accumulation of ammonia in the body during special stress situations, and for this reason they neutralise premature fatigue.
L-glutamine is a non-essential amino acid; however, it is considered a “conditionally” essential amino acid since in some conditions (stress, trauma, infection, intense training, etc.) its consumption is very high.
It is very important for the muscle tissue in order to be able the increase protein synthesis and decrease catabolism.
In summary, we can say that muscle development is fuelled by the branched-chain amino acids and glutamine, which at the same times prevent muscle catabolism in situations of oxidative stress.
