Supplementation with vitamin C is usually associated with improving the immune system, acting as at first level of defense against external agents, and protecting against oxidative damage to cells. However, supplementation in sport with high-dose vitamin C aims to maintain the ability to respond to increased demands in situations of repetitive stress.

Especially in long-term aerobic sports there is an increased risk of oxidation, but by taking vitamin C as an ergogenic aid , has favorable effects on aerobic capacity and muscle strength is obtained.
